壬生寺を紹介します。今は、幼稚園を経営されたり、近所の老人たちが掃除されたりしている静かなお寺です。

しかし、私が二条城や蛤御門のBlogで紹介した頃には、このお寺には、”新選組”と言う武力集団が駐屯していました。

当時、京都市民からは嫌われていたそうです。

二条城のBlogで紹介したように、1867年に当時の政権はなくなり新しい政府ができました。

しかし、彼らは古い政権側の武士たちと共に新しい政府に反抗し、最後は日本の北である北海道で死に絶えました。

今、日本人は新選組が好きです。写真のように、あとの時代に慰霊碑を建てた人もいます。
